Teachers will examine the motivation of classroom students through the lens of contemporary films. The reflection of societal values and lifestyles. the consideration of "special needs", the ethnic and gender divide and the achievement in the culture of high stakes testing are concepts movies portray. In this way our goal, to make curriculum more applicable to daily life, will be enhanced as teachers leave experience with methods, materials and a greater confidence in their presentations. Employing a critical thinking, problem solving approach in a cooperative engaging setting. This course is for all teachers K-12: LANGUAGE ARTS; SCIENCE; MATH; SOCIAL STUDIES; HISTORY; SPECIAL EDUCATION; MUSIC; PHYSICAL EDUCATION; HEALTH; GUIDANCE; THE ARTS.
