COURSE DESCRIPTION

Teachers will investigate pertinent and appropriate television broadcasts from over-the-air stations, public broadcasting and cable access channels for connections to their individual curriculums.  They will discuss the content and display of popular programs to demonstrate the power of the medium as a teaching device.  Participants will develop methods and materials immediately useful in their classes that should lead to a more meaningful and applicable classroom setting.  Assessment techniques, critical thinking skills and an emphasis on a variety of learning styles will be featured.  FOR ALL TEACHERS AND STAFF K-12:  Language Arts, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, World Languages, Special Education, Music, Art, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Technology Education, Health, Guidance.
